I cannot begin to describe the unique vocal of this much-missed singer from Cape Verde. I was so shocked to learn of her passing away in 2011.

I remember first hearing it overhead at a Tower Records store. It struck me like a thunderbolt.
A certain sadness lay beneath that gently swaying rhythm and comforting melody. And her singing went straight to the heart.

Thanks for posting this. I worked at a record store for years and had some of her CDs. A few years ago someone stole about 100 of them. Hers were among them and I had rather forgotten. I really loved her music.
